When the year changes, the list screen no longer shows last year's entries.
Tap the calendar icon at the top left of the list screen and switch the year.
Also, check past dates on the calendar screen to see whether the entries you wrote are still there.
If even entries on past dates have completely disappeared, the cause may be an accidental operation or a malfunction of the device storage.
For security reasons, this app never stores your diary data on any server, so there is no built-in way to recover data that has been lost.
We are very sorry, but if you have not created a backup yourself, recovery is difficult.
If you absolutely need to recover the data and your device itself was backed up with iCloud Backup, you may be able to restore your device to that earlier state by erasing it and restoring from the backup. (This is the standard backup feature built into the iPhone, not this app's premium iCloud Backup feature.)
This method erases the entire device, so other data and apps may be lost. We cannot guarantee the result in any way. Please proceed at your own risk.
How to check whether a backup exists
Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top (your Apple Account), then tap "iCloud".
Next, tap "iCloud Backup". Devices with iCloud Backup turned on are listed there.
Tap your device to see the date and time of the last backup and the list of apps included in it. If this app is in the list, its data as of that date is included in the backup.
If you want to recover the diary entries from that point in time, you can restore your iPhone to that backup, which brings the whole device back to that state, including the diary entries that existed then.
How to erase the device
Open the Settings app and tap "General".
Tap "Transfer or Reset iPhone", then "Erase All Content and Settings" to reset the device.
A message may appear asking whether you want to update the backup before erasing. If you update the backup at this point, it will overwrite the backup with the current state, in which the data is already gone. Do not update it; continue to the erase step instead.
When you set up the device again, choose to restore from the iCloud backup, and the device will return to the state of that earlier backup.
Once again, erasing the device carries risks: other apps' data may be lost, and unexpected problems may occur.
We are unable to provide support for the device erase procedure itself. If you are unsure about the steps, please consider asking someone familiar with iPhones to help, and proceed at your own discretion.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
