Structure of the exported data
When you choose the data period and file format in the app and export your diary data, a compressed file named "Diaries.zip" is created. When you extract it, your entries are organized into folders by date.
Example folder structure:

- 2024-01-20.html (HTML)
- 2024-01-20.pdf (PDF)
- 2024-01-20.rtfd (RTFD)
- 2024-01-20.txt (TXT)
- image.png (photos attached to the entry)
Features of each file format
The four available formats have the following characteristics. Choose the one that fits your purpose.
1. HTML (view in a browser)
A format you open in a computer browser such as Chrome or Safari.
Features: You can look back on your diary with a design close to the app's. Photos are displayed together with the text.
Best for: Reading your diary on a computer.
2. PDF (printing and long-term storage)
A document format with a fixed layout.
Features: The fixed layout is preserved, making it ideal for printing on a home printer as is.
Best for: Keeping your diary as a paper book, or storing it neatly as PDF files.
3. RTFD (rich text with images)
A rich text format with embedded images, which opens in "TextEdit" on a Mac.
Features: Easy to edit as a document, with photos stored inside the file.
4. TXT (plain text)
The simplest format, with no decoration.
Features: It can be opened by any software and is least likely to have character-encoding issues. Photos are saved separately in the folder.
Best for: Moving your entries to a blog service or processing the data.
